Sofia airport duty free cigarette prices compared to local sofia tobacco shop

You can buy cheapest cigrates in Bulgria as compared to any other European country. The price of 1 Pack of Marlboro lights is 5.50 Lev (2.70 Euros).  According to European customs law, one person can travel with 400 cigrates  (4 boxes of 10 packs). I was travelling to Belgium from Sofia.

I bought 4 boxes of Marlboro lights from a local market of Sofia for 220 Lev. Then I bought 4 boxes from duty free shop of sofia international airport. The price was 219 Lev.  So, basically there is no difference of price either if you buy cigrates from any local shop of Bulgaria or from duty free shop at airport.

It is recommended that you keep the payment receipt with you until you reach home because customs officers may ask you for it to make sure that you bought customs paid cigrates.
